NC Democratic Party Jewish Caucus

The North Carolina Democratic Party Jewish Caucus (NCDPJC) unequivocally condemns the heinous act of terrorism that occurred on June 1, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado. During a peaceful demonstration organized by “Run for Their Lives” to advocate for Israeli hostages held in Gaza, a man identified as Mohamed Sabry Soliman attacked participants with Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower while shouting “Free Palestine.” This assault injured eight individuals, between the ages of 52 and 88, with at least one person in critical condition.

This targeted attack on Jewish Americans exercising their First Amendment rights is a stark reminder of the rising tide of antisemitism in our nation. It underscores the urgent need for collective action to combat hate in all its forms.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims, their families, and the entire Boulder Jewish community. We stand in solidarity with them and with all who are affected by this senseless violence.

The NCDPJC remains committed to fostering unity, promoting understanding, and ensuring the safety and dignity of Jewish communities across North Carolina and the United States. We call upon leaders at all levels to denounce antisemitism unequivocally and to take concrete steps to prevent such acts of terror.

In these challenging times, let us reaffirm our shared values of justice, compassion, and respect for all.
